Our
Time Attack
Championship

Formula GP is THE modern historic Formula 1 championship, featuring single-seaters with a displacement of over 2.4 litres produced before 12/31/2000.
The objective for drivers is simple: to achieve the highest average lap speed, in the hope of reaching the top step of the podium.
A true test of mechanical taming to the sound of V8, V10 and V12 engines!
Press release, March 2025:
What is the Formula GP grid?
On the eve of the 2025 season, a new format based on the Time Attack series has been born, called Formula GP. It allows Formula 1 and large single-seaters with displacements of over 2.4 liters from the 1990s and 2000s to compete on the racetrack. With this in mind, promoter HVM Racing and LRS Formula joined forces to create Formula GP. The idea behind this series is to offer real competitions with standings, while avoiding the risks associated with starting procedures and overtaking maneuvers, which can be dangerous.
Employees talk about it ...
Laurent Vallery-Masson, head of HVM Racing:
This collaboration, which we first saw at the end of 2024 at the Dijon Motors Cup, is now coming into its own, and we're delighted to be able to work together to offer a unique solution for taking part in real competitions with the Formula 1s that have made motor racing history. The expertise of LRS Formula is a decisive asset in the success of our project: as a technical and sporting partner of the FFSA, LRS Formula guarantees a substantial number of entrants, and is involved in the search for new European drivers.
Laurent Redon, Managing Director of LRS Formula:
We're delighted with our partnership with HVM Racing, a key player in the organization of historic races, and even more so for single-seaters, and we'd like to thank them for their confidence.
We're going to pool all our efforts to offer competitors and motorsport fans alike an exceptional championship of historic single-seaters, with Formula 1 cars from the 90s and more recently.
Launching such a championship is a real challenge for LRS Formula, and we hope to live up to competitors' expectations for this first year, which is already shaping up to be an excellent vintage!
